YJS Youth Substance Misuse Officer - WMF1050e

This is an opportunity to join an established team working to improve outcomes for children and young people in Westmorland and Furness. You will work within the multi-agency Youth Justice Service delivering specialist substance misuse intervention to children involved in the Youth Justice System, focusing on harm reduction and education.
The post-holder will work in partnership with colleagues within and outside the multi-agency Youth Justice Service, including those delivering both statutory and non-statutory work, as well as engaging with pathways into other services to include supporting transitions to adulthood for service users., If you are invited to a virtual interview, this will preferably be undertaken using the Microsoft Teams software, which is currently free for new users, however if there are any issues with accessing this technology, we are happy to discuss alternative arrangements prior to the interviews.

The right candidate will have experience of working with and engaging young people and their families who may have complex needs. You will be able to take a strength based approach to empower people to make changes while demonstrating persistence to overcome any problems.
The post involves the ability to organise a varied workload, accurately collect and record data related to your work and maintain accurate written records of work delivered.

This role requires an enhanced DBS check with a Children's Barred List check. Please note this role involves working in regulated activity with Children.
