Full Job Description
Avantor is looking for an experienced and lab-savy Toxicology Scientist to join our team based in Cambridge, UK. In this position you'll provide support to the Safety Innovation Group, by carrying out toxicology risk assessments from early stage to pre-clinical studies of drug development.,
- Carrying out cell biology techniques such as immunoblotting, immunofluorescence, flow cytometry, luminescence-based assays and high throughput proteomics
- Toxicology risk assessment of product on early stage of development, including assessing side reactions
- Following General Laboratory Practice (GLS) guidelines and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Carrying our small bespoke assays
- Using automated systems and various advanced devices
- Education: PhD Degree (Toxicology preferred), or equivalent experience in toxicological field

+ Career exposure to the drug development process in both academia and industry setting
+ Mammalian tissue culture and general cell biology techniques including such as immunoblots, immunofluorescence (IF), flow cytometry, ELISA
+ High throughput assays, from conception to implementation and data analysis
+ Microscopy and automation, with emphasis in acoustic drug delivery and multi-well confocal imaging
+ Knowledge of GLS regulations, processes, operations and compliance.

This role will be a full-time, temporary (12-months) position based in a brand-new facility at the customer site - The Discovery Centre, Bio-Medical Campus in Cambridge. Next to an attractive salary, we offer multiple benefits such as pension scheme, private medical and dental care, and additional day off for your birthday.
Working hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 - 17:00
The Team
You'll join a small team of 5-6 associates. You'll belong to our business department Lab and Production Services, which supports big pharmaceutical companies and laboratories all over the world, in Research and Development within the Life Sciences industry.
