Full Job Description

As a Supply Chain Manager, you will be responsible for sourcing and purchasing services and goods for James Fisher Renewables in the most effective manner in line with contract requirements, budgets and strategic initiatives. Key for this role would be to manage and build strategic supplier relationships, identify and evaluate opportunities for cost savings, and ensure that the procurement and purchasing process is aligned with industry standards and adheres to group policy.
This role will be reporting into the Finance Director and will require some occasional travel.,

  • Negotiate and implement framework agreements that underpin the cost base and service levels required to meet the operational needs of the business.

  • Work closely with the Project and Operations Managers to ensure their needs translate to a delivered and effective supply chain solution.

  • Build effective relationships with external suppliers / partners and internal stakeholders.

  • Implement and maintain supplier performance monitoring.

  • Create policies and procedures to ensure that risks are identifiable and mitigation actions are implemented.

  • Manage the onboarding of new suppliers and maintain the topicality of the Approved Vendor List.

  • Identify and create synergies that will provide greater leverage for the JFR business.

  • In conjunction with the Accounts Payable team, manage the Purchase to Pay process for the JFR business.

  • Provide management reporting for the Procurement function including supply chain savings.

  • Ensure that the procurement team maintains and captures appropriate information in compliance with company policies and procedures.

  • Organise project specific equipment and services to support company operations and projects.

  • Undertake supplier performance reviews to ensure contract compliance and manage performance improvement activities.

  • Compile and analyse procurement data, in support of delivering updates and procurement-based reports to support other areas of the business as may be required.

  • Remain self-motivated and flexible within the work environment and be willing to work in other areas of the business as requested.

    Experience of working within a procurement team as a senior buyer / purchasing manager.

  • Good ability working with MS Office applications and will have excellent administrative skills.

  • Ability to adhere to deadlines.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Extensive experience of developing procurement process and long-term strategy.

  • Analytical, numerically astute with strong proven problem solving abilities.

  • Results orientated with the ability to plan and deliver against project deadlines.

  • Commercially and financially astute.

  • Self-motivated, able to work under own initiative, thrive in a challenging environment, be approachable and have a flexible attitude.

  • Experience working in renewables industry.

  • Experience in continuous improvement/lean practices.

  • CIPS Level 3.

  • Experience operating and buying in a contractor-heavy or services industry.
