Full Job Description

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic pharmacist to join our vibrant, forward thinking Medicines Optimisation service.

The role involves leading the delivery of the Trust's Medicines Information Service, including the day-to-day management of the busy enquiry-answering service, as well as supporting the wider medicines optimisation and clinical teams in the pharmacy department with medicines information.

It is essential that you can analyse highly complex sensitive information relating to medicines and have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ideally, you will have knowledge of how a Medicines Information service runs and have good critical appraisal skills. Furthermore, candidates should have influencing, negotiation and problem-solving skills.

A key part of the role will be promotion and evolution of the MFT Medicines Information service as part of the MFT single service across the multiple MFT sites.

To deliver this, you will work in close collaboration with the wider paediatric and adult clinical teams, professional secretaries of the paediatric and adult medicines management committees, medical and nursing colleagues, and UKMI, supported by the Lead Medicines Optimisation Pharmacist.

As part of this role, within this large teaching hospital, you will be involved in education and training of staff. You must be able to work on your own initiative, but also within a team and be capable of recognising your own limitations. A broad clinical knowledge is essential. As part of a team which constantly drives safety and quality improvement, you will be encouraged to demonstrate your initiative, get involved with research, and identify areas for service development and promotion, Disability Confident
