Full Job Description

The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) is responsible for welfare, pensions, and child maintenance policy. As the UK's biggest public service department, it administers the State Pension and a range of working age, disability and ill health benefits to around 20 million claimants and customers. Working with DWP, you will be helping us to drive our priorities to:
+ Run an effective welfare system that enables people to achieve financial independence by providing assistance and guidance into employment

+ Deliver outstanding services to our customers and claimants
+ Deliver efficiently: transform the way we deliver our services to reduce costs and increase productivity, The Project Manager role involves the delivery of transition programmes, projects and services to drive the improvement of Digital capability standards and breadth within DWP.
The main duties and responsibilities of the Project Manager would be:
+ Delivery of BAU
+ Leading on the implementation a new governance framework for the Department and providing secretariat for its associated Board
+ Delivery of various projects including, but not limited to the implementation and transition to a new contract which will have a significant impact on ways of working.
+ Leading on continuous improvements to harness opportunities for process and cost efficiencies.
+ Co-ordinating BAU Delivery, enabling the delivery of capability of skills and resources for Digital.
+ Designing, implementing and managing a variety of medium-large size projects. This includes the planning, resource-budgeting, co-ordinating, communicating and monitoring of the entire project.
+ Actively managing and co-ordinating the overall work programme for the Team, ensuring priorities are understood and resources are allocated accordingly.
+ Ensure potential issues and risks are identified and escalated swiftly, ensuring mitigate plans are in place and monitored.

+ Strong interpersonal & Stakeholder Management skills
+ Excellent communications skills
+ Planning and reporting experience
+ Task management experience
+ Change Management and CI
+ Awareness of contract management
+ Experience in the Implementation of HR systems or Recruitment Management System (Desirable), Disability confident
