Product Development (Plant Science) Manager

· Leading the product development programme for the company with direction from the Company Director.

· Ensuring product compliance in terms of labelling and producing product dossiers in accordance with EC fertiliser regulations.

· Undertaking product registrations where required with approved organic bodies, for example Soil Association and Ecocert.

· Development of new products based on fertiliser and surfactant formulation chemistry.

· Ability to undertake and evaluate replicated field trials, grow room and glasshouse studies.

· Support the Company Director in technical requests relating to products and regulatory approvals.

· A candidate with a strong product development / technical background.

· Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal with customers and suppliers.

· A reasonable understanding of agronomy, plant science or plant physiology.

· A forward-thinking and self-motivated individual, you will be ambitious and have a strong desire to grow the company.

· The ability to work independently or within the existing technical team.

· Full working knowledge of Microsoft Office and use statical packages such as SPSS or similar packages., Ideally the position is suited to a graduate of some area of plant science, a candidate with several years experience in a commercial or research environment. Preferably experience within turfgrass industry or plant science would be ideal. However all relevant technical experience will be considered and we welcome applications form those with relevant experience., · A combination of working within the office and laboratory environment or at field sites.

HITAS is recruiting to further expand our current technical team in line with the expansion of the company. Our main focus is product development and supply for the Horticultural, Turfgrass & Agricultural markets. This role covers three main areas of work, which are: Regulatory requirements, product development and supporting existing product sales through technical support.

Salary will reflect relatable qualifications and experience and is negotiable for the right candidate for the right candidate. We envisage a basic salary range between £30,000 - £40,000 per annum. We also an offer a pension and a performance related bonus scheme.
