Shades is a Yorkshire based marquee company with an unrivalled range of high quality sailcloth tents and stretch tents to offer the perfect backdrop for any wedding, party or event. We also have a fantastic range of furniture available to hire, some of which is hand crafted to fit the current styles and trends.

Our team have over 30 years of expertise in event management, which means we will be able to offer you sound advice on planning all aspects of your event, including marquee layout and power requirements. Our attention to detail and high standards ensure your marquee will be pristine; from smart, clean linings, to evenly spaced guy ropes and discreetly located loos. We take an enormous amount of pride in what we do and understand the importance of getting everything spot on every single time.

We are based in Yorkshire and travel throughout the UK offering high quality marquees, furniture, theming and lighting for weddings, celebrations and corporate events. Our season starts soon and will last until October. We are looking for new staff to join our current team of full time and part time staff.

Working Hours
Flexible hours based on marquee hire bookings with typical hours between 6am to 7pm Sunday to Friday and additional hours on marquee builds as dictated by seasonal demand. Very few Saturday shifts and the occasional Sunday shift. The summer season is planned in advance you we are very flexible to our casual staffs' plans, making this work extremely useful for students., To work and integrate with our existing experienced team of full time and casual staff.
To build and deconstruct marquee structures at designated site locations and ensure that all tasks allocated are accurately carried out in accordance with instruction and time frames set by the Lead Foreman.
To ensure procedures are followed (company and legislative) and Health & Safety rules are observed.
To take part in the cleaning of all equipment when required, as instructed by the senior team.
To park and drive vehicles appropriately, treating them and all company equipment with respect.

Work in the events industries can be useful but not essential. All training is given on site.
Ability to work as part of a team.
English as a first or second language as all marquee structures will be erected in the UK.

Clean UK Driving License is essential for this job role. We are adding to our current driving team, and experience in Vans is useful but no additional license is necessary.

You'll be responsible for delivering a great product and service to our clients who are often watching the whole build process. You must have a positive influence on your team and present our clients with a professional 'can do' attitude. You'll need to be committed, punctual, trustworthy and fun. It goes without saying that is a physical job and most of the time we are working outdoors, so a love for the open air and willingness to accept the great British Summer for what it is needed!

From £12.80 an hour - Part-time, Temp to perm, Full-time, Temporary contract, Fixed term contract, Zero hours contract, If the applicant wants full time work for the Summer, a short term contract can be setup, and last year many of our employees worked throughout the Summer season, and met the targets to hit the bonus scheme.
