Level 1 Site Manager - Christ Church CE VA Primary School

Required for January 2024 (with the possibility of an earlier start date by mutual agreement), The Governing Body of Christ Church CE VA Primary School wish to appoint a Level 1 Site Manager on a 35 hour / 52 week contract.

Hours of work are Monday to Friday 07 : 00 to 11 : 00 and 15.00 to 18.00 (open to discussion as to exact timings upon interview / job offer).

The successful candidate will be entitled to 26 days annual leave per annum for under 5 years continuous Local Government service, rising to 31 days per annum from 5 years.

Key duties

Reporting to the Head teacher & School Business Manager, you are required to be responsible for : the security of the premises and its contents (including being the registered key holder);

lighting, heating and cleaning of premises; porterage and handyperson duties; and other duties arising from the use of the premises.

A full job description and person specification is available from the school. Experience of building work / joinery and / or previous caretaking / maintenance officer / site experience would be an advantage.

A sense of humour is also valued, as is the ability to liaise with teaching staff pleasantly, despite occasional temptations otherwise!

Knowledge of premises-related Statutory Health and Safety checks, risk assessments and certification records would be useful but training will be provided for the right candidate.

You will be required to undertake first aid training and be a registered first aider for the school.

The ability to converse at ease with children & staff and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post.
