Full Job Description

We are looking for a Construction Co-Ordinator to coordinate the upfront activities before construction phase of the works begin, Seeing the job through from Contract Notification to Design Handover. Working closely with the Project Managers, Design Team and Commercial Team ensuring delivery and achievement of outcomes in accordance with the requirements, standards and targets set out by the client. To work collaboratively with the client, internal staff, operatives, sub-contractors and other professionals to support this process.,

  • Ensure that you take responsibility for the care of your health and safety and that of those affected by your actions or omissions

  • Cooperate with requirements of Lanes-I in relation to health and safety and not inhibit our ability to meet our duties under the HSAWA

  • Ensure accurate line searches are carried out on all awarded schemes to highlights any potential issues.

  • Co-ordinate/Plan support staff as safely as possible at all times ensuring adequate resource for the task in hand.

  • Introduction calls to all new clients explaining the process and setting their expectations.

  • Co-ordinate pre-start meetings with the client.

  • Provide an excellent customer service throughout each project. Ensuring all our customers are always kept up to date, warning them of any potential issues/delays in a timely manner.

  • Dealing with enquires and complaints immediately, updating all parties involved whilst updating work management systems

  • Working closely with each Project Manager throughout the pre-construction stage of the scheme until the designs are fully approved and design handover complete to ensure the customer updated through the process.

  • Chase through sites requests and feedback on progress of Temp Supplies, Legal, Design Approvals.

  • Ensure Build programmes are obtained so we understand the customers timescales for delivery.

  • Manage/liaise with your colleagues and always work as part of a team.

  • Always show honesty and consistency with your peers and clients.

  • Ensure work management systems are always kept updated.

  • Attend weekly design/operations meetings and feedback any updates to the customers.

  • Ensure we always work in an efficient manner and always look at way we can improve.

  • Co-ordinate/Plan support staff as efficiently as possible at all times.

  • Encourage a paperless work environment where possible.

  • Working with commercial team chasing up on any initial payments due before works are carried out.

  • Check any long lead items are ordered well in advance in preparation for site needs.

  • Co-ordination of section 50 applications in advance for all works.

  • Co-ordinate pre-start meetings with relevant councils/DNO where necessary

  • Create all hand over files to company standards.

  • Feedback build programme info to ensure ops/design are working to the customer timescales.

  • Ensure necessary agreements are in place before construction phase begins i.e. BCA, AA RFW etc

  • Ensure live working paperwork is completed in correct timeframes in accordance with local DNO/IDNO procedure .

    Minimum 3 years' experience working within the utility industry

  • Minimum 3 years' experience working in an Administrative/Planning/Co-ordinators Role

  • Experience managing and planning works programmes

  • Experience and Knowledge of the NRSWA process for opening notices

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
