You will carry out the operational duties of an all-round multi-skilled operative, including associated works, across the full range of repairs services on all One Manchester`s owned and managed properties.

You will visit premises and properties to carry out maintenance, repair, refurbishment and renewal work to both tenanted and empty homes. You will be agile, travelling directly to your first job utilising a company vehicle deemed suitable for the work that you are asked to do.

What will I be expected to do as a multi-skilled operative?

  • You will be an ambassador for One Manchester delivering excellent customer services, demonstrating One Manchester values and behaviours at all times.

  • Ensuring accurate diagnosis of work is undertaken and an effective and efficient repair is made.

  • Be responsible for ensuring that all work has been carried out to necessary health and safety standards adhering to risk assessments and method statements.

  • To undertake as necessary works associated with repairs, empty homes, minor and major new construction work including 1st fix, 2nd fix etc.

  • Responsible for maximising output and efficiency and minimising waste.

  • Responsible for ensuring van stock is maintained and used effectively.

  • Work flexibly to fully cover our hours of operation across a 40 hour week.

  • You will be expected to work your contracted hours, be present and punctual to maintain appointment slots for our customers.

  • Multi-skilling will be regularly tested and paid at an appropriate rate, any colleagues who do not meet the required standard will not be paid the additional rate until training has been provided and re-tested., To take responsibility for ensuring the service is delivered timely and efficiently working flexibly to ensure the customer demand is met and they are satisfied in line with One Manchester Customer Service Standards.

  • To deliver an efficient multi-skilled role across all areas of One Manchester's Homes Team service, for its customers and external clients.

  • Maximise your productivity and comply with all current regulations and good practice at all times.

  • Excellent communication skills when dealing with customers, contractors and other trades including the diagnosis, measurement and quantification of materials for additional works identified.

  • You will work in an effective manner in line with industry standards whilst maintaining a safe environment for employees, services users, and members of the public.

  • Ensure that contractual requirements are met through the efficient provision of a joinery, plumbing, masonry, plastering and painting service for property maintenance, repair, refurbishment, and renewal work for One Manchester and other external clients.

  • Effective liaison with other services of One Manchester, its customers, clients, and stakeholders to deliver service objectives.
