Are you a tech-savvy problem solver with a passion for providing top-notch IT support? We're on the lookout for an exceptional IT Technician to join our dynamic team on a full time, permanent basis. As an IT Technician, you'll be the go-to expert for all things tech, ensuring our systems run smoothly and our team stays productive. You will provide 1st and 2nd line technical support to both schools and businesses therefore experience and knowledge of both these sectors is highly desirable. The most important aspect of this role is fitting in with our company ethos and bringing a positive attitude to the team.,

  • Provide technical support and assistance to end-users for computer hardware, software, and network-related issues.

  • Install, configure, and maintain computer systems, peripherals, and software applications.

  • Troubleshoot hardware and software problems, diagnose issues, and implement solutions promptly.

  • Set up and maintain network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.

  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as system updates, backups, and security patches.

  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights in accordance with company policies.

  • Respond to IT support tickets and service requests, ensuring timely resolution and escalation when necessary.

  • Document technical procedures, configurations, and troubleshooting steps for reference and training purposes.

  • Collaborate with other IT team members and departments to implement IT projects and initiatives.

  • Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends to provide recommendations for improving IT infrastructure and systems., This post will be based at our office at Ellesmere Port, although you will be expected to travel to other sites around the North West for on-site visits as and when required. A full driving license and access to your own vehicle is essential. Travel costs will be reimbursed and there is also use of a company vehicle as needed.

    Proven experience as an IT Technician or similar role, with a minimum of 3 years of experience.

  • Strong knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux), and software applications.

  • Proficiency in troubleshooting technical issues and resolving problems efficiently.

  • Familiarity with network protocols, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, etc.

  • Experience with system administration tasks, including user account management, Active Directory, and group policies.

  • Ability to prioritise tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical users.

  • Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP) are a plus.

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field preferred, but not required.

  • Flexibility to work outside of regular business hours as needed for maintenance, upgrades, or emergencies., You must be proactive, reliable and demonstrate initiative in complex situations. You will have a hands-on and can do attitude.
