Full Job Description

The role of the Inbound Collections Agent is to maximise collections throughout the process of the Collections letter cycle. Agents are the main point of inbound contact for customers who have received a Debt Recovery letter and are responsible for taking payments, setting up payment arrangements and answering customer telephone queries.,

  • Handle calls and queries appropriately, in a polite and professional manner

  • Take payments over the telephone

  • Negotiate suitable payment arrangements with debtors

  • Answer debtor queries using Client systems

  • Update status of accounts accordingly via Client systems

  • Review debtor evidence in line with acceptable company standards

  • Adhere to client business parameters

  • Comply with company policies and regulatory requirements on every call

    Excellent listener and communicator

  • Strong customer service skills

  • Ability to affectively work in a team

  • Be self-motivated and work well towards targets

  • Good PC Literacy skills, including a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office package

  • Good Negotiation skills

  • Previous experience in a fast-paced office/call centre environment desirable but not essential

  • Previous experience in debt recovery or payment management desirable but not essential as full training is provided

    Salary £22,000, increasing to £24,000 after successful completion of probation

  • Target based bonus scheme (OTE of £26,400)

  • Flexible hours - 08:00 - 16:00 or 09:00 - 17:00

  • Monday - Friday schedule (36.5 hours per week)
