Full Job Description

As Head of Unity Recruitment Operations, you will take responsibility for transactional recruitment activities and adopt a strategic approach to develop the current UBS offering across different Government Departments. This is a vital role within UBS and will help to shape the future landscape of the service offering across the department.

  • Partnering with key stakeholders across the organisation, including the Talent Acquisition Team and senior business leaders, to ensure that the end-to-end recruitment process is planned and managed effectively by all stakeholders.

  • Responding to operational demands promptly and advising on best approach.

  • Work with business areas across government departments to review their workforce plans and consider levels of demand.

  • Work strategically to expand service offering within UBS and provide cost-effective solutions to corporate activities.

  • Embedding centralisation, best practice and streamlining ways of working.

  • Strategically planning and selling the service offering, measuring effectiveness & efficiency, and identifying changes and improvements.

  • Work with the Cabinet Office, ensuring alignment with wider UBS strategy and convergence requirements.

  • Confidently build relationships with stakeholders across the Civil Service, leading strategic and technical-level conversations and communicating at an executive level.

  • Work closely with operational business leads and senior managers to create recruitment plans which are cost-effective and deliver excellent service for the business and applicants.

  • Reporting on recruitment transactional performance and analysing the data to drive understanding of the process and identify areas for improvement.

  • Produce and utilise quality data to make proposals for internal process improvements and build performance packs to demonstrate our offering to other government departments.

  • Measure the performance of operational recruitment, identifying areas where improvements are required either from stakeholders or from your wider team. Using this data, you will create improvement plans and work with stakeholders and the wider team to get buy-in to the changes needed.

  • Working with the Civil Service Commission (CSC), ensuring adherence to principles and correct levels of engagement are in place., You will be comfortable working with and challenging senior leaders where necessary.

  • You will champion data security across Unity Business Services, supporting us to remain GDPR compliant.

  • You will have a passion for innovation, build automation tools and techniques into the strategic direction of the team to drive continuous improvement.
