Full Job Description

  • From prototyping and evaluating early design concepts

  • Producing realistic models of how systems perform within their environment

  • Developing complex networked simulations to support front-line training activities.

  • Preparing/improving computational fluid dynamics and electromagnetics software toolsets

  • Validation and documentation of toolsets

  • Developing new prototype Virtual Reality or Artificial Intelligence based demonstrators to improve product usability or design etc.

    As a minimum requirement you'll need to have obtained, or be predicted to obtain, a 2.2 in your Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aeronautical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Game Development (including Augmented and Virtual Reality), Computer Graphics (Warton based roles) or other STEM subjects with modelling and simulation related modules.

    BAE Systems do offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements, however it is expected on our Graduate Programme you will be required to attend your site 3-4 days per week. Please note, this may be subject to change in line with the needs of the business. The hybrid working arrangements including which days you are required to work on site/remotely will be outlined by your line manager.

    What you will be doing

    This engineering role is for the Modelling & Simulation discipline which is one of the more specialist areas. Modelling & Simulation has applications throughout the whole engineering lifecycle. In the placement you will be expected to be involved in a number of areas in order to develop a broad understanding of the products and services we are involved with. It covers the entire BAE Systems product range spanning air, sea and land domains, although this role has a particular focus on air platforms within the Air Sector business.
