Furniture Delivery / Removal Driver

We are looking for staff to collect and deliver furniture for our charity clients. As a member of the Boxmove team, no two days would be the same. We only work with the best drivers, who understand that we need to deliver service with a smile, at the same time as squeezing a sofa down the stairs and past two cats.

You'll need to be physically fit to lift furniture but you also need style, kindness and diplomacy to deal with customers. We aren't interested in academic qualifications but you need to have the following qualities:

• An honest and responsible attitude to other people's property and furniture.


• A friendly manner and good communication skills


• The ability to work well within a small team


• A good level of fitness


• The ability to work out the most effective way to load items (Tetris helps)


• Excellent driving skills.


• Must have a driving licence for at least 5 years with no endorsements


• Must have no accidents or insurance claims in the last 5 years in any vehicle
  
  A typical day….


• Providing top class service, both at our client's shops and customer houses


• Driving around the local area in a 2-man team to a set route & schedule, completing collections and deliveries of furniture


• Making sure the furniture we collect can be sold - and being diplomatic with customers when we need to politely decline things.


• Packing and loading items onto your van and securing them safely


• Shifts are generally around 10 hours a day but it varies depending on workload and traffic. We'd expect you to work 4-5 days per week, with variable start and finish times (generally 7am start, 4:30/5pm finish)


• Generally 40-45 hours a week, and you'll need to work most Saturdays. We don't work Sundays or Bank Holidays.

Either way, you'll be paid for your time and if it goes well we'll immediately offer you an employment contract.
