Full Job Description

As part of Stevenage Borough Council's 'Making Stevenage Even Better' Corporate Plan and the recently adopted Stevenage Works Skills Framework this role will be front and centre of the council's emerging commitment and ambitions around Enterprise and Skills., The Enterprise & Skills Partnerships Officer will be positioned as a focal point of contact and will lead on partnership engagement and development with a focus on supporting connection and collaboration across key stakeholder groups including:

  • Key Local Employers

  • Education & Skills Providers across the private, public and third sector

  • Target cohorts for support (young people, those in employment, those outside or with barriers to employment


  • This role will work closely with our partners at Mission 44, a charitable foundation founded by Sir Lewis Hamilton to support and augment the delivery of the 'Pioneering Young STEM Futures' programme aimed at giving underserved young people equal access to Stevenage's STEM careers.

    Key responsibilities will include leading on two key strands of Stevenage Works Skills Framework, taking responsibility for how we connect and communicate with stakeholders and how we can best provide information, advice and guidance about the skills offer in Stevenage. The role will also work closely with key strategic partners including Hertfordshire Local Enterprise Partnership, Hertfordshire County Council, the University of Hertfordshire, North Hertfordshire College, local schools, and businesses.

    The successful candidate will have (or demonstrate the ability to quickly develop) a sound understanding and experience in the delivery of placed based collective impact approaches. As well as experience of working in multi project programmes delivering at pace and making the most of public funds. Perhaps most crucially is the ability to establish positive relationships with key stakeholders of all levels with experience of working in and developing partnership approaches.
