Full Job Description

The role has two distinct focus areas: delivering a complete business intelligence, MI reporting, planning and forecasting service to the leadership team, and taking responsibility for the coordination and compliant delivery of all regulatory reporting submissions within the business.

Day to day you will:

  • Liaise with Regulation and Customer departments to understand all methodologies and interpretation of Ofgem regulatory reporting;

  • Compile monthly, quarterly and annual regulatory reporting returns in line with the Ofgem RIGS guidance; also responsible for identifying improvements to regulatory reporting to keep up to date with business change and continuous improvement;

  • Improve, prepare and deliver the timely suite of monthly management reports and Power BI for three business areas, including analysing results, monitoring variances, identifying trends, and recommending actions to management;

  • Work with the leadership team to identify enhancements to the core IT platform, to support continuous improvement through technical innovation, assisting with change board requests, gathering of functional and non-functional requirements and User Acceptance Testing;

  • Create and deliver data visualisation and MI dashboards, which effectively summarise business, financial and regulatory performance;

  • Complete regular audits and quality assurance checks on random and specific datasets, relative to business need and regulatory compliance, supporting both the office and field operations;

  • Support the ENWS month-end finance process, compiling all field completion volumes across to Finance, validating accuracy for month-end accruals.

    Previous experience and competency conducting complex data analysis on large datasets across multiple databases;

  • Experience in creating MI dashboards and reporting suites for senior or executive audience;

  • Working knowledge of Power BI or equivalent;

  • Strong organisational skills and self-motivation;

  • Excellent written communication skills combined with the ability to accurately capture and present information;

  • Experience of working within a regulated utility or a commercial business;

  • Analytical thinking, with confidence to draw conclusions which can influence business decision making based on data and business analysis;

  • Results focussed, with the ability to work under own your initiative., Any offer made will remain conditional until pre-employment checks are complete to a level deemed satisfactory by Electricity North West.
