Full Job Description

  • Ensuring security integrity of the school buildings and grounds

  • Carry out day-to-day duties according to daily schedule, i.e. litter picking, sweeping outside areas.

  • Making temporary or permanent repairs or otherwise notifying management

  • Be observant for H&S issues and ensure that they are rectified or made safe and reported to management.

  • Where appropriate provide access, escort, liaise with and assist service providers on site to undertake remedial work.

  • Minor mechanical i.e. Plug top fuse replacement, failed lamp replacement, minor carpentry i.e. putting up shelves.

  • Minor plumbing i.e. repairs to taps, cleaning blockages.

  • Ground maintenance Duties and Grounds inspections including walkways, internal roads and car parks ensuring they are clear of foreign matter.

    • Skills and knowledge

  • The ability to use your initiative.

  • Range of general handyman skills such as minor plumbing, carpentry, electrical.

  • Patience and the ability to remain calm in stressful situations.

  • Sensitivity and understanding.

  • Excellent verbal communication skills.

  • Knowledge of public safety and security.

  • A desire to help people.

  • Good timekeeping, smart and presentable.
