Full Job Description

  • You will ensure the successful delivery of key assignments and defined business areas, providing strategic direction and monitoring delivery aligned with overall vision and objectives.

  • You will be responsible for delivery from project inception / brief, through design development and planning, contractor procurement and construction phase in accordance with the overall delivery program and agreed project milestones.

  • On behalf of external / third-party clients, you will oversee the project management of the project on an individual and team basis from inception to post-completion.

  • You will collaborate with multiple internal and external stakeholders, up to C-Suite, to implement and manage our programmes.

    Substantial previous work experience in project management (or equivalent).

  • MCIOB / MAPM / MRICS (or working towards) or local equivalent.

  • Tertiary qualifications in related (project management and / or construction-related discipline), non-related degree or equivalent professional experience / apprenticeship, combined with a demonstrable intermediate level of role knowledge.

  • Appropriate Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) card.

  • Experience in delivering projects under NEC forms of contract.

  • Proven experience in project management, managing small to medium, and large-sized projects.

  • Leadership and management experience of large, diverse teams.

  • Experience of managing relationships with key senior stakeholders.

  • Knowledge of how carbon and sustainability considerations will shape the outlook of the projects you are working on

  • Developed communication, presentation and project planning and development skills.

  • Developed budgetary oversight expertise.

  • Advanced proficiency in communicating, coordinating activities and collaborating with stakeholders.

  • Proven understanding of project management methodologies and practices.

  • Display strong communication and negotiation skills to support the client / customer focus.

  • Proactively manage internal budgets and fees, delivering agreed outcomes.

  • Proven competency that understands construction methodologies and sequencing.


  • You'll also have
  • Prince2 or alternative local equivalent.

    The project :

    Mace are the delivery partner of the UK government, managing a programme of 6 expansion projects across the United Kingdom.

    The projects are split into 2 packages.The role is the lead role of one of these packages, overseeing the delivery of 3 projects with a value of between £100m and £400m each, reporting to the programme lead.

    The projects are at early RIBA stage 5, entering into main contract negotiations in the spring and summer of 2024 with a delivery timescale of 2 years.
