Full Job Description

  • Receiving and reviewing initial tender enquiries from new and existing clients

  • Obtaining quotes from supply chain for sub-contractors and suppliers

  • The ability to generate a scope of works or use client's schedulesCalculating material, labour and preliminary costs for in-house works

  • Compiling tender information / quotes and submitting to clients within required timescales

  • Answering post tender queries

  • Negotiation with suppliers and sub-contractors to achieve best value

  • Placing supplier and sub-contractor orders, ensuring costs are within budgets

  • Monitoring and reporting of costs and cashflow throughout project

  • Produce and submission of Final Accounts for client agreement

  • Build and maintain relationships with clients, suppliers and sub-contractors, The successful applicant will work towards a Level 4 Construction Quantity Surveyor Technician Qualification, which will take 36 months (plus End Point Assessment) and will be through Leeds College of Building

    With experience, you could become a senior quantity surveyor or move into senior project management, supply chain management, consultancy work or self-employment

  • You could specialise in areas like planning, risk assessment or contract disputes

  • Another option is to move into lecturing at a university or college, Communication skills, Attention to detail, Organisation skills, Problem solving skills, Number skills, Analytical skills, Team working, GCSE or equivalent English (Grade 5-9) Essential

  • GCSE or equivalent Maths (Grade 5-9) Essential
    GCSE or equivalent Science (Grade 5-9) Essential
